In May/June of 2023, seven clinicians (5 doctors, 2 nurses) visited the Solomons with the goal of establishing connections and relationships that might allow for ongoing exchange bot to and from Australia. This visit included time on both the National Referral Hospital (Honiara) and the Gizo Hospital.
In both facilities, the Australian team sought to better understand the needs and wants of the Solomon doctors and nurses. Numerous conversations occurred and relationships were forged.
This clinician group was also able to accomplish simulation education sessions in both hospitals for the staff. These education sessions were well received by the Solomon staff.
